This amount of £385, as also an increase under the head of Spirit, Opium, and Pawnbroker's Licences, together with the gradual increase of Buildings, will add considerably to the estimated amount and before the close of the year, it will be possible to calculate them with more accuracy.
20. As to the feature of the rate paid for the various licenses, little can be said against it.
21. The Grant Licenses are granted to Europeans who keep Hotels and Public Houses, they are for the retail of Spirits, Liquor, Beer, &c., and the duty payable is $100, or £21.16.8. Since almost without exception Licenses are paid for in English coin. The remainder of these Licenses are granted
